Weinburd Publishes on Locust Behavior

Jasper Weinburd, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computational Data Science, has published the first-ever data on individual locust behavior within a swarm. "By understanding the motion of individual insects, this work moves us closer to informing effective control strategies for destructive swarms," says Dr. Weinburd. The paper, , appears in Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences and is co-authored with Dr. Weinburd's former students and internationally-recognized locust biologists. Dr. Weinburd is the lead author.
